i finally saw this fantastic movie this weekend... totally just my type! you're dumb if you don't go read the book and see the movie. the end.
:: eat ::
:: pray ::
:: love ::
Any movie that talks about stuffing your face in Italy for four months and finding happiness in that on top of achieving spiritual balance and clarity is just my type. I'm so glad I read the book though by Liz Gilbert beforehand!. the movie did a good job of following the story - but her witty language and wealth of spiritual and relationship advice couldn't be matched in the 1 1/2 hour film... with that being said though, I had to share a few of my favorite quotes from the book that were so eye-opening:
"stop wearing your wishbone where your backbone ought to be..."
"this is a good sign, having a broken heart. it means we have tried for something."
"to lose balance sometimes for love is part of living a balanced life."
"the mosquitos here are big enough to rape a chicken."
"there's a crack (or cracks) in everyone... that's how the light of God gets in."
"having a baby is like getting a tattoo on your face. you really need to be certain it's what you want before you commit."
"i have a tendency not only to see the best in everyone, but to assume that everyone is emotionally capable of reaching his highest potential. i have fallen in love more times than i care to count with the highest potential of a man, rather than with the man himself, and i have hung on to the relationship for a long time (sometimes far too long) waiting for the man to ascend to his own greatness. many times in romance i have been a victim of my own optimism."
"look for God. look for God like a man with his head on fire looks for water."
seriously, go read the book and then go see this movie!
