it opened my eyes to a whole new perspective on the image of a skull and cross bones. it's almost suggestive of how our stories can live on and never die (or how our obsessions can be the death of us) take your pick!

christmas-y fun!

just showing up to sunday school in our whoville christmas show costumes... no big. we looked totally normal.

some of my girlfriends got dressed up to go see the houston ballet's nutcracker for lauren's birthday...

the birthday girl and i! such a sweetie!

smoked salmon stuffed w/ goat cheese, artichokes, capers, bell peppers, and covered in a citrus dressing with a side salad of fennel and citrus... ridiculous. it jingled my bells.

no ordinary christmas light viewing... we made it into a hayride (only in texas haha) oh well, yeehaw!

it's the most wonderful time of the year!

i recently stumbled upon these cakes and confections out of the Cake Opera Company in Toronto and had to share! that is some sweet art if i've ever seen any... i also love their website, so check it out!

and having seen the nutcracker this weekend, it reminds me of the sugarplum fairies that are dancing in my head. i imagine that they make treats like this (or at least mine do haha)

wants vs. needs

i can definitely identify with all of these especially the part about lighting my house on fire. cleaning is the bane of my existence. but then again so is facebook.... there's no such thing as trash-talking bacon so we'll just skip over that.

maybe i should just cook my bacon over the flames of my ablaze apartment all the while updating my status and meeting some firefighters in the process. best idea i've had all day.
